What is the chakra in our body?
Chakra is a holistic paradigm that includes areas such as physiology, energetic anatomy and astrology. The body energy centers are called chakras which are part of the subtle body and not the physical part of our body. According to the yogic vision, they are the combination of energy, thoughts and the physical body. These chakras help determine how we experience reality through our emotional reactions, desires, and level of confidence. Here we have presented the seven main chakras of our body.
7 chakras of the human body
1. Muladhara Chakra

This center is located at the level of the pelvic floor. It shows our connection to the land and it keeps us grounded in reality. It makes us physically strong and secure. The Muladhara chakra contains our Kundalini Shakti which controls our instincts for food, survival, sleep and sex.
Yoga poses like Warrior Poses, Chair Pose, Hip Opens, Deep Lunges and Squats are associated with the Muladhara Chakra.
2. Svadishthana Chakra

Sacral chakra or Swadhisthana Chakra is located in our sacrum and is called our aquatic center. It is the home of our reproductive organs and desires. During this chakra we can recognize our true potential and when this chakra sleeps we can be governed by our emotions.
To balance this chakra we can perform Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose). Other poses like forward bends, squats, and deep lunges also help us bring our awareness to this center.
#3 Manipura Chakra

The solar plexus chakra is found at the naval level and associated with our digestive system. It is often recognized as an energy powerhouse of the body because it controls the enormous amount of our physical vitality.
Navasana, or Boat Pose, helps reach this chakra. When our whole body and mind reach this chakra, we feel empowered by the energy of transformation.
#4 Anahata Chakra

This chakra is located in the center of the chest, which is why it is called the heart chakra. This is the most powerful chakra of all and largely associated with the lungs and the elements of air. During this chakra, we can imagine our heart as a meeting point for the vast spectrum of our emotional experiences.
Pranayama, heart-centered meditation, and prayer help bring light into this chakra. Backbends, Ustrasana will also help reach this chakra.
#5 Visuddha Chakra

The throat chakra is associated with the element ether and is called the energetic focus of our speech and hearing abilities and our endocrine glands. In general, the Visuddha chakra helps expand our conversation to divine power. Fish pose, camel pose, shoulder stand and various other poses help purify and heal our throat and reach this chakra.
#6 Chakra Ajna

The ajna chakra is called the command center and located in the middle of the brain. This chakra is recognized as a meeting point between ideas and the pingala nadis, the two important energy flows in the body. It is a place where our mind and body come together. To reach this chakra, we must practice alternate nostril breathing and mediation exercises.
#7 Sahasrara Chakra

This chakra is considered a gateway to universal consciousness. To reach this chakra we need to practice Sirsasana or Headstand.
