My Top 12 Lessons from 2024 – JSHealth

As the end of the year approaches and we prepare for the weekend, I find myself reflecting on what 2024 has taught me. Each year brings its own challenges and joys, and with them, lessons that shape how we approach life, love, and growth. Here are the 12 lessons I’ve carried with me this year—reminders to stay focused on what’s most important and let go of what doesn’t matter. I hope they resonate with you as much as they guided me.

Jess’s 12 lessons from 2024

  1. Wherever your attention goes, energy flows.
Wherever I focus my attention – whether on positive or negative thoughts – that is where the energy goes It grows. Realizing this has changed my mindset and helped me focus on the positive aspects of life to grow!
  2. Tend to be upset.
In my personal and professional life, leaning into discomfort has made me stronger. Discomfort is not something to be afraid of, it is what strengthens us mentally.
  3. Enjoy the good moments.
When life is good, stop and smell the roses. The present moment is all we have, and when we embrace it, everything seems lighter.
  4. Life is a series of trade-offs.
Realizing this makes things seem realistic and manageable, both personally and professionally.
  5. Rituals keep me grounded.
There are three rituals I stick to no matter what: a healthy morning and night routine, good sleep, and a daily walk with my husband. These simple practices nourish my mind, body and spirit.
  6. You can’t have everything at the same time.
This truth grounds me and helps me prioritize what matters most in each moment.
  7. What you put out comes back to you tenfold.
I’ve seen this over and over again. Good and kind people always win in the end.
  8. Everyone has something.
Social media often highlights the highlights of someone’s life, ignoring the challenges and struggles behind the scenes. Don’t compare your life to others, especially online.
  9. Stick to your “why.”
When building a company, your “why” is what keeps you going. He has been a guiding light for JSHealth and continues to move me forward.
  10. We are stronger than we realize.
I am reminded again and again of the power we all carry within us, which is so much greater than we often think.
  11. Grandma’s Wisdom: Look forward, never back…and move forward!
Grandma always says: “Look forward, never back or to your left or right.” Problems arise when we compare ourselves or dwell on the past. This lesson guides me through personal and professional growth. Her other gem is “Continue”. Life is just about boxing and moving forward, even when it’s hard. Get up and keep going.
  12. Take mental breaks.
Weekends and holidays to look forward to and taking a break from social media are essential. These breaks keep me calm and motivated when I’m feeling drained.

Wishing you time to reflect, rest, and reset as we approach the new year.
